Anybody know if the motor from a RHD wiper motor can be swapped to fit a LHD mechanism?

I know the white plastic gear part is on the opposite side (like a mirror image).

Was thinking the magnetic rotor part inside can just be taken out and put in the casing of my LHD version?

Not even sure if it's the rotor that's burnt out. Just doesn't work as it should. It draws loads of current and hardly moves. ( If I spend 20 quid on shipping and it works just as badly I'll be rather mad).

Cheers

Is your car a series 2???
Have you tried changing the wipers relay??
From memory, its the big RED relay near the fusebox in the service compartment

In my old 1.5ti the wipers had all kinds of problems.
Sometimes it would stop in the middle of the windshield, worked very slowly regardless of switch position and the intermittent function, sometimes did not work.

As i had other car for parts, i changed the relay and all the problems disappeared

Sounds just like mine.

Where did you get your relay from?

I had another car for parts...

So it was easy to get a spare relay.

Dont you know of someone near you with a series 2???
The best solution is to try swaping the relay and see if it solves the problem.

Only one and he has the same problem I believe.

Only a few 33 S2's here in Uruguay.

Sent an email to John at justsuds to see what he has.
