After some 5 spoke speedlines (like 155 ones) and N/S mirror as mine seems to wobble a bit, the adjuster seems to be not connected, will have to look closer at that, also I take it 16" wheels wont upset the P4, I know about the hub size bit.

I had a look at my mirror last year and the lever that controls the movement attaches by 3 short wire cables which attach to the centre of the plastic back plate that the mirror is bonded to, if your mirror glass is loose then posibly 1 or 2 of the cable have become detached. If its the whole mirror that wobbles then you may have a cracked large circular castle nut that holds the mirror to the door.
