It's with great sadness that I'm having to put my 1993 Kreg 33 1.7 IE (105K miles) out to pasture after 13 happy years. As a London town car, the old boy is no longer gorgeous looking (e.g. the bodywork is now 'stonewashed' red), but he's been a reliable everyday car with no major issues, and a lot of fun to drive. However, this year's MOT was failed due to a damaged joint gaiter and leaking power steering rack.
I found replacement parts for under £200 but the work to get the rack sorted has been quoted at c.£900+VAT. I'm not in a position this year to afford this, along with the annual insurance, resident's parking, etc. So - with nowhere to store Alf until more flush times - I'm looking for alternatives to scrapping it.
Someone may be keen on a pimping project, or just happy to get it back on the road (still drives fine, but has been SORNed), or magpie it for parts.
Please let me know by next week if anyone's interested, otherwise I'll be turning to Giveacar.co.uk so there's some consolation in saying goodbye.

Which garage quoted that?
With a replacement rack it's 1 hours work, maybe 2!
I've done it on Permanent 4 in the past.

Im confident Lloyd at Clovertech could do that for much less than £900!
They're based in Dagenham, number is 020 8984 7220. He might even be interested in taking it off you himself - is a bit of a 33 specialist. |
