Just testing the water here.
I have a complete S3 16v SW in burgundy, without an engine, that I have been thinking of stripping, but would happily sell as is if there is any interest.
This was originally swapped for my blue S3 1.7 8v, and I had intentions to get it back on the road, but acquired another SW last summer that was perfect in every way except for a minor engine issue (cambelt slippage), then replacement engine turned out to be a dud, so the burgundy SW engine has been swapped into it.
Current condition (with engine missing) is:
- Underside and sills are solid
- bottom front of one rear wheel arch perforated
- rear roof by tailgate hinges has bad corrosion and pitting
- Tail gate has seen better days
- brake pipes and brakes need replacing
- Suspension is all intact but no doubt in need of a refurb
- Interior is complete and undamaged but a bit grubby
- All electrics are intact and work
- All engine ancillaries are with the car
- Gearbox works well as best as can be told driving up and down a private road and getting into all the gears (before the engine came out)
- Clutch is with the car
- Car has only 58k on the clock
Realistically, the body needs some TLC and a coat of paint to make it a nice car, interior needs cleaning up, and, of course, it needs an engine.
Not many S3 SWs left now, and from a parts proposition, interior bits are getting a bit rare.
Is anyone interested? Not sure of a price but happy to negotiate.
