Some Alfa badges have this blue cross instead of a red one, quite rare granted but does anyone know why, or what models had the blue cross? I found a link on another site & they seemed to except the fact that the blue cross was actually a faded red one? i don't buy that. I've seen thse on a few series 2 33's and also a few spiders. Any clues?

Faded, like QV green becomes blue on 145

Yep, just faded Alex. Look at the person in the serpents mouth.....same faded red gone blue.

I have noticed several Alfas, maybe 156's, around here with badges whose colour has completely faded, so they just seem to be silver, whereas the badges on all our cars, including the Sprint, still have near perfect colour.

I guess they just don't make them like they used to, probably just paint instead of stove enamel. Water based paint at that Sad

Hee hee, nope not me guys, I bought a job lot of badges off this guy via eBay & 1 of them had the blue/faded cross, the picture I posted on here was 1 the seller originally sent me, he now thinks they are rare & has advertised 1 on eBay saying so. I have emailed him telling him the real reason the cross is blue but he hasn't removed it from eBay....yet. Funny innit. Smile
