|
|
I'm currently 'mid swap' of the engine on my 16v 33 and have noticed a transducer in the exhaust after the cat converter.
I assume this is a lambda sensor - does my car really NEED it?
The previous owner of my car was found guilty of cruelty to cats - yes he removed the cat honeycomb from the front pipe and welded it up again. The car has gone OK since then but sounds 'orrid!
I'm intending to replace the front pipe with a non-cat pipe - will the replacement front pipe still need to have the sensor installed in it?
Many thanks

Yes it is the lambda and i would say yes you do need it otherwise the car will not run very well because it will not adjust the fuel air mix correctly and the car wont like it very much. I think. |
