it cost approximatly: $500 australian to get them bent up,
so about $800 australian, for the set up!! NO TURBO,
let me kno, if anyone interested! _________________ -=alferr=-

havn't had a chance to get them bent up yet, but i was thinking that, i wouldn't put a flange for the turbo on, so that people could weld their own flanges and turbo's on!! _________________ -=alferr=-

wot exactly do u get for this and which engine is it for as that is kinda pricey if it is just the exhaust pipe part of it i would want all the inlet for this as well and bein as i have the twin carb engine i should imagine the inlet is very tricky and how would u set the carbs up for it _________________ http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=881 |

Not wishing to sound like a kill-joy, but I would have to agree. Getting it to work with 4 carb barrells directly would be a massive job and almost impossible, so it must therefore presurise the airbox. So, the feed pipe from the turbo will have to come up between the engine and radiator, and exit the same way. Then you've got the problem of increasing the fueling to ALL FOUR barrells at exactly the same time at exactly the moment the turbo comes in, then retarding the ignition. I also doubt you'll be able to use anything more powerful than a diesel turbo as a proper one (T25, T35) will blow the head gaskets after about 30 seconds due to the high compression. Even if you managed to get it all working, you'd rob the car of it's best feature (linear power and endless pogresive torque) and replace it with massive lag then a bang of power that'd see the gearbox off faster than they go already. Sorry to be a Doubting Thomas mate, but... |

As a good few racers have proven - supercharging seems to be the way to go.
I tend to agree, though, the engine would still be robbed (but pehaps less so) of its basic charm.

Is it possible to supercharge the 16v? Would I have to reinforce the engine and retard it or can I just use a mini supercharger with the air meter on the end? |
