Hi Guys! Very Happy

I have a problem! (Yes another - on my 33 1.7IE) Shocked

I've carefully removed the fron struts from both sides of the car and labelled them depending on which side they came from.

This was to replace the strut pan bearings (the yellow ones). It appears the previous bearings were broken due to the lower caps/upper caps being the wrong way round!

So - could someone please tell me which lower cap is which on the car?!?!? Question

The lower cap is the metal part which the strut pan bearing goes up inside - the offside and nearside are different due to where the notch is for the base of the spring.

Now - I believe the larger part of the lower cap points towards the rear of the car - based on this.... where should the 'notch' be on either side?!?!?!

Thanks!

Wink

Hi bobbber

just sorted the shock's,the lower cap's are not sided on mine so the bottom of the spring is facing forward's not backward's where the end of the spring sit's in the cap.try this and see how they sit Wink make sure when you fit them that the top's are fitted in the right way.if you look at the top of your shock. there will be a bit cut out like a half moon it's about 5mm wide, match this to where it was last fitted.there should be a dirt line to see where it was fitted.hope this help's

got to fix the the manifold now blowing. i cant reach maxium warp Cool

all the best john
