|
|
Trading and exchanging players in MLB The Show 26 is all about working smart, not just grinding. Whether you’re flipping cards in Diamond Dynasty or making strategic trades in Franchise Mode, knowing the right tips can save you stubs and help you build the team you want faster. Here’s how to do it efficiently.
1. Efficient Exchanges in Diamond Dynasty
The main goal of exchanges is to turn lower-rated cards into better packs or program progress without overspending. Here’s how to get the most out of it:
Best Value Brackets
Bronze cards rated 70–74 OVR give the best stub-to-point ratio, around 48 points per stub.
For faster order fulfillment, Silver cards 75–79 OVR or specific 68 OVR cards sell quicker.
Companion App Advantage
Using the MLB The Show Companion App allows you to complete up to 300 exchanges per hour, much faster than on console.
The “6-Card” Rule
For Silver-to-Gold exchanges, you typically need six 77 OVR players to hit the exchange requirement. Keep this in mind when buying duplicates.
Avoid “No-Sell” Traps
Cards already locked into collections cannot be exchanged. Always check the No-Sell marker before buying.
2. Efficient Trading in Franchise Mode
Franchise trades in MLB The Show 26 are more realistic with a multi-day negotiation system, so patience and strategy matter.
Leverage All 4 Slots
You can have up to four active trade offers at a time. Bid on different players at once to see which team bites first.
Target “Seller” Teams
Use the Rumor Board to find teams in a rebuilding phase. They are more likely to trade veterans for prospects.
Set “Untouchables”
Protect your core stars by marking them as Untouchable in the trade hub. The AI won’t lowball your key players.
Use the 8-Player Hub
The expanded hub lets you do 4-for-4 trades, letting you balance contracts and prospects to make trades more appealing.
3. Market Flipping for Exchange Capital
If you want to fund exchanges without spending stubs, smart flipping can be your best friend.
The 10% Rule
The marketplace has a 10% tax on sales. Only buy cards when the Buy/Sell gap exceeds 10%, or you risk losing stubs.
Bronze Flipping
Buy Live Series Bronze cards for around 25 stubs and sell them for 50+.
This low-risk method can net 36,000–40,000 stubs per hour if done consistently.
Always track your exchange points versus stubs to ensure maximum efficiency.
Check the market trends regularly—ODR ratings and seasonal boosts can change value fast.
Use Mini Seasons or Team Affinity rewards to supplement packs you can exchange for higher-tier players.
Mastering exchanges and trades in MLB The Show 26 isn’t just about luck—it’s about knowing which cards to buy, which trades to pursue, and how to move your stubs smartly. Follow these strategies, and you’ll level up your Diamond Dynasty squad while keeping your stubs safe. |
