Hi everyone...
I have got a question for you regarding the 1.5IE (Cat) injection and fuel economy...
Does this engine have a fuel cut-off when you lift the throttle or when you drive downhill in a lower gear???
Thanks in advance...

Hi,
Do you know if your EMS is a Bosch or Magnetti Marelli IAW one?
In Bosch Jetronic, fuel cutoff occurs when accelerator throttle is released and the minimun throttle opening switch is triggered.
Also when accelerator throttle is closed and engine rpm are more than 1600 (like downhill with gear engaged and accelerator pedal released), fuel is cut off untill 1100 rpms where fuel is supply is restored.
Of course the aim is to reduce emissions of unburnt HCs.
I don't see any reason why the IAW system would work in a different way.
