Sorry if this has been covered before (I did look through the archive but couldn't find anything) - will the 145 boxer engine fit in a 33?
I'm looking for an engine but can only find one for a 145
Thanks |

The boxer engine will fit.
For the 145 and 146 a special frame was made to fit the boxer engine!

Hi
Issue might be getting the different ignition / injection system used to work on a 33. Not sure the 145/6 engine has the facilities for a distributor for example.
All the best

Which 33 engine are you after - size? carb or injection?
I know I have a 1.7 16v - think I may have an 8v....
As above - 145 will fit but electrics issues...

Hi lancsbreaker
I'm after a 16v motor but I need loads of other bits too as I'm coverting my 8v to a 16v.
The only problem is, I need to run it with a cat as its a 1994 car and I'm not sure if the bits from a non cat car are the same eg. wiring loom and the ecu.
If the engine you have is from a cat car, that would be great - I'll also need the front crossmember and the manifold and cat.
Anyway, let me know what you have
Thanks

OK - I'll check either tomorrow or on Tuesday, I know I've got a 16v and think it was from an L-reg, so should have been a cat car. I've stripped the car but should have most bits.....
Call me on 07976 384980 if you want to discuss..

Ok that sounds good - it would be great if you had all the bits. Any idea on the mileage of the car when you broke it?
Could you let me know what bits you have from my list, and then I'll give you a call
Thanks very much
