Absolutely- that's why historically i think we've all kept stum about things like AR oil filters for 99p etc etc.
Would like to know who bought the genuine brand new cat about 5 months ago. Thought i might get this for about 20 quid, then it went into a bidding/sniping frenzy in the last 30 seconds. Bowed out at about 120 quid. If i'd have won the auction at that price the wife would have beaten me up anyway!

lol, in a way it could help prevent that by saying first dibs and then you know whos bidding for it. Thats my thoughts, i wont do it then, thought it would help
