I just had a dyno run done on my 33 1.7.
This is the first part of a christmas present to myself - I'm also getting the exhaust redone from the headers back, and hopefully converting the car to solid lifters. I'll dyno it again afterward to see if there's an improvement. Very Happy

Dyno printout

Peak power was 60kW at the wheels, which occurred from 5500 to 6000rpm (we didn't take the car any higher than this).
60kW is 80.5hp.
If as per this thread the driveline losses on a 2WD 33 are 19.5%, my car's making around 100hp at the engine. The rebuilt engine in RBL's Porsche replica made 97hp at the wheels, so I have some catching up to do!

My 1.7 carbed engine having done 153,000 miles was rebuilt at 67,000 miles and put out 123hp at the engine! Good rebuild I reckon.

Very often the tolerances and assembly quality of the boxer engines was less than satisfactory. The quoted BHP figures are rarely obtained and therefore a decent rebuild can do wonders (and so can a good rolling road tuneup).

I'm gonna do the dyno tune after the exhaust and the heads get done, but fingers crossed I can leave the block alone. I don't think I could remove that from the car myself and it would add a lot to the bill to get it rebuilt..
