For those of you who live in sydney, i stumbled across a little alfa shop on parramatta rd that had every part for any alfa! I was quite amazed! Anyway, after falling in love straight away with the place , they said they had a pair of grooved and drilled ventilated disc brakes for a series 3 33 16v. At $104 each, they're certaintly not cheap, but im sure they're better than the stock ones. Should i by them? _________________ 91 Alfa Romeo 33 16v * SOLD*

Standard rotors would cost that much in nz and after market ones should last longer as factory units are soft to comply with euro regs on requiredretard if servo fails. you would need high performance pads to get full benefit. go for it!

And I paid $100 per rotor for just for standard Alfa solid rotors for my series one about a year ago.

I noticed a pair of Brembo ventilated discs for the 16v went for £50 on eBay recently. I was going to buy them, but wasn't sure how I'd fit them to my car (straight swap? new calipers?) - and I have other priorities with it anyway.
I still picked up a set of Ferodo fast-road/race pads for a tenner though. _________________ 1988 Sprint 1.7 QV (35,000 miles) |

Reply for Maximilian - The discs would have sold for £50.00 because that is what the Alfashop in Norwich sell them for!
- no reason to pay more!
Whilst I'm here I've got to recommend the Alfashop as they're decent value, realistic, knowledgable and honest - and they post the stuff really quick! Can't get any better! |

Alfashop sell 16V ventilated discs??
I've been there dozens of times in the last few months with my 16V conversion (they're just a few blocks away from me) - if I'd known they did performance parts I would've got em. Now I've got to wait till September before I can go there... _________________ Hugh B

Hi all,
I used (since it has been last 3months on same place) OMP drill/grove disc on my P4.
After I've got them I only once experienced fade and it was on Alfa track day on track
They do their job nicely, but they are also very soft, standard ATE 16v pads eat them away.
On the other hand OMP fast&road pads need 1-2 brake preheating to start breaking fully.
So yes you can use normal pads with drill/grove discs, but usualy that disc needs softer pad.
