I was wondering if any of you guys has fitted aftermarket ABS to your 33
I understand it was available on P4'S
I have 4 pot willwood disks all round at the moment and the brakes are good but ABS would always be a plus point

lol,
You guys crack me up, yup the standard brakes on the 33's are not very good, if looked after they can be ok.
I experimented with a few options many years ago and finally got mine to work very well, when pushed hard I only ever got brake fade once and it came back really quick. I tried mintex and ferrodo pads, red dot 40 or 60 grooved disks.

Mine as they are will lock up the fronts and the front can drop, showing the brakes are working, there is still room for improvement.
I am using ferrodo pads and stock disks, you need to make sure the play in the rear is taken up first and that if the car is lowered the brake bias adjuster has been adjusted, something I need to do, hence the room for improvement.

Hi

Yes, the 33 comes with dry weather anti lock brakes as standard.

The real 33 ABS system was fairly crude, and suspect it would be a pig to upgrade a non ABS car to use it. The ABS versions used rear disks which on a 2wd car would be the most obvious issue.

All the best

Keith

I think id stay with my current set up
The willwoods are great at stopping the damn thing.
The other thing that i would of liked to have was A/C but that too seems a costly waste of time too

Hi

Somewhere around I have the manual for fitting the air conditioning scanned in. If it would help I can dig it out.

All the best

Keith

Standard brakes are fine, on the anchors all the time is not the quickest way chaps, use the car's balance.
