Would anyone have the following info for a standard series 2 1.7 33 :
Rear road spring height when fitted to the car (with weight of car on spring) and when off the car loose.
Front road spring height when fitted to the car (with weight of car on spring).
I'm having some springs made and his information would be very helpful,my current springs are already modified so unable to supply information myself.
Thanks for any help given

According to my french "revue technique"
Front
diametre of bar 13.2mm
diametre of spring 160mm
length(free) 310mm
force/displacement 21.6N/mm
Rear
diametre of bar 11.2mm
diametre of spring 111mm
length(free) 302mm
force/displacement 2.4kg/mm
length under load 204mm
Rear height measured between fore(chassis) and aft(hub) bolts on leading suspension bar: 27mm +10mm -5mm(aft bolt lower than fore bolt).
I hope that helps. _________________ Alfa33 QO 1984

Hi..I add that it depends also on the year.
Front coils for all 8v models are:
> 321mm from 90 to half 91
> 311mm from half 91 to half 92 (10 mm shorter but same flexibility)
this give the car a more sharper profile (10mm lower at the front)
and better (lighter and faster) steering wheel response
> if you are going for tuning, it exist also a shorter front coil
from model 16v (specific of QV or Q4 from half 91 to 92-93)
(20mm lower at the front) but this coil I think is less flexible so less
comfortable and it needs one of the shorter and harder type rear coils
The front shock absorbers for each type of coil have slightly
different height of the stem but some interchange is possible
using some attention (coils must have at least a little pre-charge).
After half 92 you know the system is different,
with conic coils and 3 bolts in the upper part of the mac-person,
in that case only 2 possible coil type (8v and 16v),
but I never measured this type..
If it can help, you can find some information
on coils and the corresponding car height
from page 1559-1569 and 1731-1765 of the PDF
Workshop manual for 3a series you find in this
Alfarestoration site, section of manual-download
and the codes of the different coils on Eper
(I already searched and copied these pages
of the manual for me:)
