Hi Guys
Just taken the spark plugs out of the old series 2 and they are sooty black.
Need to make her run a bit leaner....but how???
It has dellorto carbs which have 4 screws in each.
Does anyone know which ones to adjust and which way to turn?? _________________ Presntly own

Hi Ian
from memory one is air one fuel, what you can do is winde them both in,then i think it is one and half turns out. fire her up then you can adjust by ear. half a turn at a time. hope this helps

Suggest you use a colortune to avoid excessively lean running + detonation.. |

I'd almost bet on a float problem as they get heavier with age, with consequent enrichment. Needle valves can also be a culprit. Check your float adjustment (5-6 mm between float and top when held vertically). The idle adjustment is recessed inside a sort of tube towards the bottom of each barrel of the carb and 1.5 turns from seated is a starting point. It is a fuel screw so clockwise for lean and anticlockwise for rich. There are no other screw adjustments for mixture. Float levels will effect mixture throughout the rev range. Hope this helps.
